How to describe Aastha Lal? She’s charismatic, of South Asian descent, and can do a fantastic Jackie Chan impression.
As a speaker living in the digital age, she is familiar with doubts that paralyze our minds as well as social and cultural pressures that sometimes prevent us from living our best life. Her career as a stand-up comedian has helped her to find the humour in all of life’s situations and thus share that positive perspective with everyone that she meets. Aastha is a little lady who gets big laughs.
Aastha is no stranger to the stage. Born and raised in Queens, New York, she has performed on hundreds of stages across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong. Aastha has become known for bringing her audiences to tears from laughing at her sitcom-esque life experiences and hilarious impressions, while simultaneously delivering impactful, thought-provoking messages.
After graduating from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, she trained in Television Acting under the guidance of the iconic Jennifer Gibson, and honed her art of Improvisational Acting, Stand-Up Comedy, and Comedy Writing at the world-renowned Second City. Wanting to take her craft to new heights, Aastha decided to combine her love for humour and desire to influence positive change, and founded Goodness & Giggles.
